Why are the fruit jar pre-cleaners so valuable? I watched an individual at an auction buy an engine just for the jar air cleaner. e-Bay also brings high bidders on the pre-cleaners.

My wonderful wife of 35 years bought me a "fruit jar" last week at a church bazaar. Fits my Super M air cleaner perfectly.. Price? .10 cents. Go figure.

Cheg,

They aren't "valuable". It just happens that some people are willing to pay the higher price to have that authenticity.

I just paid almost $2K for an old tractor. This is just as dumb; as in reality, it is probably worth more like $400.

Go figure,

Allan

I always wondered the same thing. Our tractors just had the mushroom looking precleaners and I think they did just as well. I got lucky and got one at a salvage yard for very little money. I use it for parades and put a toy John Deere in the jar just for a friendly jab at the JD people.

I have a friend with Super H with a toy 8N ford in it. When the tractor is running it goes round and round.
