I have a 1940s model IH 2 bototm Little Wonder Plow. I am curious as to if there has been anyone that has put modern wheels on it? I want to convert it to rubber as traveling down the road would damage the steel. What do you recommend doing? Am I going to have to buy a new rim?

Thanks

Justin

Do not destroy those original steel wheels, an easy way out would be to simply cut some strips out of an old tire and bolt them to your wheels, using the holes that are already in the wheels.
Another thing to consider, if you are going to pull the plow far enough on the road to ruin the steel wheels, you really need to load the plow onto a trailer and transport it to the field that way. Even if the plow was equipped with rubber tires, you still can't use road gear in the tractor, because the plow would begin whipping at that speed and you would lose control of it.

I have to agree and disagree with the statement it will begin to whip back and forth. If you raise both levers up in the air you are correct. But I have pulled my little genius plows down the road with my H in 5th by leaving the levers adjusted down. Maybe not as deep as I was plowing but enouh so the back wheel wont sway. Also I think he said he had a little wonder which would solve the whole whipping of the back wheel. Matt
