fluid damaged rims

is it worth the trouble to repair damaged rear rims mine are only rusted arround the valve stem hole.i was thinking of removing tires and grinding damaged area then using j b weld and drill new holes. or is there more unseen damage. worth it or not??

I just repaired a rim that was bad at the valve
stem hole. Found a large washer with correct diameter hole, and welded it to rim on the inside, then filled the void on the outside with
brazzing also.

I did this after sandblasting the rim. I also used JB weld to fill in some areas where there were deep pits. Some experts will say this is a poor way to repair a rim, but my tractor has very limited use.

Sometimes you have to tell yourself, this rim isn't any good to me now, and the worst that can
happen is it won't be any good to you after you have tried to fix it.

Well, you will find out when you take the tires off. I managed to repair a rim on my H that was just bad around the valve stem hole - although the inside was still rough and required a liner to be used.

Best idea is to JB weld or weld a plate over entire bad area (grind away or cut rust away first) and drill a hole somewhere else on the rim. Just my $0.02 worth...
