Sorry to post this again, but this forum had so many posts I already got bumped to page 2 !!!A friend has a yellow 1963 I-404 gas tractor that has not started for approximately 2 years. He bought it for $100 (while it was broke down) and never started it. It was used for general light work around a horse stables. Now, he and I are going to try to fix it and get it in decent working order. There was water in the oil. A mechanic friend says he thinks it needs head work, and his opinion is that it's not a cracked block. The block was cracked and welded on the exterior at one time, and I suggested that maybe it's now cracked inside, and that maybe that's where it's getting water. Is there any way to tell? Will we be able to get head parts and engine rebuild kit parts? How about a reman. block if it needs one? I looked for engine kit parts on this site and it appears there aren;t any..... Any help and advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance
