A few Super A questions

Well it all started as a simple tune up.....
Super a is now stripped and on blocks in the shop.(too much time on my hands after season) I have had some difficulty locating a service manual and the one I was able to find has some serious shortcomings. I appreciate the help on what must be second nature to someone with more experience with these rigs.
-my manual only lists a recommendation of 0.014 gap for tappets Hot. Does anyone have a gap for a cold engine. On the old harley I just adjust solid lifters by hand to spin easily when follower is on lowest part of cam lobe.
-what do you guys run for hydraulic fluid? manual lists IH "touch control fluid". I have a barrel of hygaurd(hydraulic tractor/tranny fluid)
-what is the torque for exhaust/intake manifold bolts?
There will be plenty of paint questions to come, and I look forward to recieving the manual ordered from this sight. Maybe then I can solve a few of these little problems easily myself. Thanks in advance for your help. It's rare to find this kind of genuine enthusiasm and genorisity these days.

The manifold is torqued to 20 ft-lbs. The head is torqued to 80 ft-lbs. You need to re-torque the had after you get the engine up to operating temperature. This means removing the rocker arm and then re-setting the valves.

There is no official cold setting for the tappets, just set them at .015-.016 cold, then set to .014 hot. Hydraulics use Hytran or a fluid that meets Hytran specs. I could look up the torque for you, but go to tune up specs at www.weberstractorworks.com. Ask your paint questions on the paint and bodywork forum. Rod(NH) can give you advice, on about anything to do with paint, and I can answer some basic questions also. Binder Books has the original IH service manuals, and the IT manual is a good supplement.

I set cold valves at .017-.018 and they are usually very close when warmed up. Didn't find that in a manual, just tried it once and it seems to work.
Case/IH Hytran is the modern version of "Touch Control Fluid" If I am not mistaken, Hyguard is Deere's version of the same thing and should be just fine.
I don't know the official torque for the manifolds. I just try to not break them off ;)
