Skip, If you can get that tractor to start, you will probaly know right away what it needs. See that everything works and that the gears are all there in the transmission. If it has a torque amplifier, pay particular attention to that. Look at all these pages, you will get an eyefull of what can be wrong with them (TAs). Otherwise, they are straight forward machines. Parts are available for the older models, so I would guess that the 560s still have pretty good parts support. Good parts will not be cheap. I'm not looking, but I probably spent close to $2000 on parts for the motor in my H. Since it is not painted up real nice, it would never bring $1500 at an auction. For me, it is a bargain. It works hard and is dead reliable. You only have to spend as much as you want. You are right, buy the best that you can, if it is going to be a restoration. If you are going to skid logs with it, the perfect paint job might not be an issue. For manuals try an outfit on the web called binder books. There are several places to get parts, but this website will block their names. I'm guessing that IH dealers are pretty scarce in NJ, no matter where you are. If it is junk, walk away. But like any classic bike or car, they are always worth more as parts. However, IMHO, it would be a real shame to break up a decent, working tractor just for a few hundred dollars 'profit'. Greg
