Been toying around with a Regular that I resurected this last month. The clutch has always been kind of strange.Had already taken a lot of mouse nest out through the access hole.Today I pulled the clutch cover and shaft off.WOW!! Couldn't believe how much more nest there was tangled around everything. Also found a handfull of hickory nuts and two dead mice. The pressure plate, disc and flywheel look OK.The pilot bearing feels rough when I turn it and the bearing on the clutch shaft is loose.Put it back together anyway just to see how it would act.Much better! Have to add two new bearings to my list of stuff to get.

Dave: Back a couple of weeks ago I was having trouble with mice attaching my Super A torgue tube. I sprayed at liberal application of penetrating oil in there, from both ends. He didn't seem to like that enviorment, thus moved on.

The Mice love those clutch housing! They especially like the Farmall A, B, C, and similar tractors.

take a cap off a quart oil bottle and push it in the timing inspection hole to keep those critters out.

Did that already.Too bad someone hadn't pluged that hole years ago.Must be the enginers at IHC didn't know much about mice, shoulda put a ltttle sheet metal flap over it like the N Fords.
