Super A originality lighting question

I'm doing a complete restoration on a 1950 Farmall Super A. When I got it it had the flatter sealed beam headlights on it and they looked original to the tractor as best I could tell. I bought the same type to put back on it. But, in Guy Fay's Letter Series Originality Guide, he list that the tear drop lights were used until 1952. If I want to be correct to the tractor do I need the tear drop lights for my 1950 Model, or were the seal beam flat lights an option in 1950? This tractor does have a lot of options to include radiator shutter/temp gauge, belt pulley...

I have a 53 Super A and the fronts are sealed beam and the back is a tear-drop type. With the difference in lighting between the two I can certainly see why someone would put the sealed beams on. I hope this helps. SAm in NS

Dave My Super A has tear drop lights and were on it from new. It is a mid 1953 model.

I'd say it's your tractor and you should make it the way you want it. I've always put my trust in Guy's research. Most likely, a former owner installed the "Flat-back" lights because he had them available. Hard to say what it may have had on it off the assembly line other than the tear drop lights.
