Lets straighten out some history here-
The B-275 was an upgraded B-250, built first in Carr Hill in ENgland. After a few years of production, the tooling was transferred to Mahindra in India. THe B-275s in this Country are British built. As far as information, look to the British IH bulletin boards-also check out Tractor and Machinery magazine, which is carried in the US by Barnes and Noble. The B-275 was carried through the IH dealership network in the US, so they should have parts, also Mahindra parts will work also. They were pretty popular tractors in Canada and in the Southeast US.

Here's one of the pieces I read that comes closer to what you cited. Comes off the British Tractor Data website:

"The International Harvester B275 Diesel Tractor was built at the former Jowett car
factory in Bradford. The engine was a 35 h.p. four cylinder indirect injection diesel unit
with glow plug cold starting. Transmission was via an eight forward and two reverse
speed gearbox. Standard equipment included live dual category hydraulics with an engine
mounted pump and an automatic pick-up hitch. Independent disc brakes and a
differential lock were also provided. The B275 remained in production until 1968. "

That's interesting if it's all true. I've read a number of histories written about the B series of I.H. tractors (B for British I guess) from various sources, and not all the information coincides precisely. I've haven't read anything, though, done with academic or historical style source citations, so it's not always easy to tell which one has the most truth content. I've never been to England or India, now, or back then. So, about all I've got to go by is what I read. I can attest that most of the parts I've bought for my tractor, that came over the counter from my local Case dealer, were in Mahindra boxes. I crossed paths a while back with another British - Indian parts situation. I was restoring my old Royal Enfield Meteor Minor motorcycle. 1959, 500 c.c. A British bike and company, that later took on the American "Indian" name and became Indian Enfield. Now, the Indian was from the original Indian motorcyle company in the U.S., not the country of India. Anyway, here I was buying up new-old-stock from prior dealers trying to fix my bike. And, I come to find out that a company in the country of India bought the tooling for the bike, adopted it as a standard military bike (in India),and now is selling the bikes back here in the U.S. brand new. I saw one at a show, and basically, it was identical to my 1959 except for a modern carburetor. So, guess I could of have bought new parts right from India. Who knows?

I've got a couple of them. My earliest B275 diesel has a CAV inline injection pump with air-govenor. My later one has a rotary pump. They were actually made in India, not Britain. IH made a deal with Mahindra, and Mahindra made them in their factory. They also made some Willys military Jeeps around WWII. I haven't had trouble getting parts right though my local Case/IH dealer. I recently rebuilt the engine on my oldest B275. Gasktes, pistons and sleeves, injection nozzles, all no problem. As I understand it, most of the tractor is still made new. Mahindra now markets their tractors under their own name, and one of the models is, basicaly, a B275-B414 with a newer engine. I was told it uses about 85% of the original parts. Mine have been a very rugged machines. Not the best starting diesels in the world, but run like clocks. Following is a little historical blurb about Mahindra's history:

"Following Indian independence in 1947, the founders of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)
were determined to chart a course of product expansion and globalization. The
philosophy led to the company’s eventual entrance into the worldwide tractor market. In 1963, M&M formed a joint venture with International Harvester to manufacture
tractors carrying the Mahindra nameplate for the Indian market. Armed with engineering,
tooling and manufacturing know-how gained from this relationship, M&M developed its
first tractor, the B-275. This successor to International Harvester’s incredibly popular IH
B-414 is still the basis for some current Mahindra models."

I think they were built in Britain for IH. They are a pretty rugged machine. I am working on (slowly) an IH 354 which is follow-on, early 70's vintage. My buddy has a early 60's B275 Diesel.
