I'm looking to buy a Cub, but I only know N tractors. Are any years better than others? Am looking for an early model, but I don't want to just look at it. It needs to do some light work too. Any advice?

JL:

There is plenty of information on Cubs available. If you go to the link below and then click on the Cub FAQ's you will probably get the answers that you want.

I have a 48 Cub - Ellie-Mae and she is my primary tractor. She plows, cultivates, harrows, hauls 4 foot firewood, twitches logs, plows snow in the winter, just about anything that I ask of her. As long as you understand the Cub's limitations and it's operating envelope, it is a pretty tough little tractor! Cubs also excel at mowing too!

I also have a 51 which is starting to be restored and I am looking for more. That is usually what happens. You can get pretty darnn attached to these tractors - real fast.

You will find other links as well, including the Farmall Cub Forum, the ATIS Forum where a lot of the Cubaholics hang out. These folks are extremely knowledgeable and are happy to help share info on Cubs.

Rdudi,

I've tried to access the links on the page you recommened, but all I get is this message:
Bad Request

The request line contained invalid characters following the protocol string.

Any ideas?

Yup:

Sounds like you are using Netscape 4.7x or IE 4.0. To view these pages for some reason you need to be using Netscape 6.0 or better and IE 5.5 or better.

What is happening is that your browser is not understanding the Java applets.

Also, the server protocols require the newer browsers to work properly.

I just tried it with Netscape 4.74 (I load it cause I much prefer the Netscape Mail Client to Outlook), and I get the same response yet I can view it properly in IE 6.0
