Can anyone tell me the difference between H and M
front wheels? Will they interchange between the
two tractors?

thanks for your help

sdterry: I looked at this earlier and thought, just exactly what are you asking? Do you mean hubs or rims or both? What production years are you asking about? The H used two different wheels, the early ones were a plain wheel held on by 3 lugs and bolts, where as the later ones had lugs rivited to wheel and use 3 bolts as the supers do. I have a book here with about 20 pictures of Ms and none of them have the old style wheel. My next question is did the M ever use the old style wheel? My final question, is this a difference between H and M wheels or rather heavy and light duty spindles? I know that is the case once you get into the number series tractors.

Hi, I guess I wasn't making myself clear.

When I said front wheel, I meant the complete wheel particularily the hub. I think a couple guys answered my question about the hubs being different because of the bearing size.

I dont think they do interchange. The bearings are different size. I'll check further ,but if my memory is correct they do not.

I have been working with sizeing up spindles for wide fronts on an M and a 300 and those 2 are differt size. The 300 should be the same as an H an outer spindle size of .935 and inner of 1.375 the M has an outer spindle size of 1.375 and inner of 1.625. The spaceing between bearings is also different.

Paul G. when I bought an old style WFE for my M the seller cautioned that it would take H hubs not M size. He was right but I could never could understand why the WFE would use a smaller spindle than a narrow front. My nickel Dick Davis

Yes, the front wheels will interchange from an H to an M. They are one in the same other than the M may have a 650 x 16 where the H's have a 600 x 16.
