My Super C has a Carter UT O-653 carburetor and the float leaks. Anyone know a possible source for a replacement float? I tried three local parts stores today (including CNH & a carburetor repair shop) and no one can come up with anything. Any NOS out there?? Thanks for any help.

Why just fix the float with JB Weld? You likely have a pin hole that can easily be fixed with a bit of weld. Others on this site have done this before and it works.

Thanks PGNS, but I did that once last year. It has developed two or three additional leaks since then and I am afraid I wont be able to patch them all without too much JB Weld weighting it down. Seems like there should be some type of sealer you could dip them in resistant to gasoline that would fix the problem.

Hey, now that you said that, how about the sealer thats used inside gas tanks? Dip the side with the leak(s), let it harden with that side down so the stuff doesn't flow inside. Then do the next hole the same.
Personaly, I would solder the holes, then maybe dip in the sealer. Just keep the solder to a minimum so as not to add too much weight.
