I know this has nothing to do with tractors, but as some of you may know I drive an auto parts delievery truck at night for a Bumper to Bumper D C. About 12:35 AM I was at a stop light in Richland ,Mo. when it changed I started to turn left on Mo.hwy 7 to 7 and hwy 133. About the middle of the intersection I thought that car is not going to stop he broadsided me just behind the fuel tank and totaled the battery box and batterys. Then he started backing up tried to come down the st. didn't work so backed up again went over to the sidewalk around a sign hit a fire hyd. did not break it off, but moved it about 6 inches backed up again almost hit the Baptist Church went across the church yard. and left. I call *55 for SHP they called Richland Police I get my Co. issued throw away camera out flash wouldn't work. Cop comes he calls the Chief who calls the young lady that just got off duty at midnight. Cop takes Pictures his don't take so he has fire dept take pictures. Chief goes looking for car finds 5 guys trying to hide a picup with front bashed in said well I am looking for a car with front bashed, left and called Sheriff of that Co., becaused some one had crashed into the fire station in next town Stoutland, Mo. it was them. Now back to us The NAPA Delivery truck pulls up talks to me a few a goes on in a few min calls me a said Jim this silver car pulled out of a side road right in front of me I have called SHP and gave them Lic# I am trying to keep up with , but they are winning. Richland Cop comes over says they have him at St. Roberts exit. later comes back and says it wasn't him just another drunk. Cops tape off church yard as crime seine. Wrecker comes and hooks up my truck and we start to Springfield 1 1/2hr away 20 mins. out of Springfield he RUNS OUT OF FUEL can you believe this. He find a couple of small containers and a hose it his wrecker gets enought fuel out of my truck to go seven more miles to truck stop, yes he payes me for it. Then of course SOP I meet my boss at clinc to take drug screen then filled out accdient report. Boss says I will guess it will be Thursday before you are cleared to drive, Then call later and said I was cleared to drive , take night off, I ask if he had heard from Richland and he said only that the car was stolen. I am 62 years old and have never had this much excitment in one night. I can make this legal the Richland Cop was telling me about driving his Dads IHC 100 when he was a boy.

Jimmy, I am very familiar with the area you describe. I live about 25 miles or so from Richland MO., and travel through that intersection on occassion on Hwy 133 to get to I-44. Sounded like quite a night. I have been having problems with some young folks partying and drinking at a creek ford joining my place. Last Friday night my wife noticed they had a fire down there visible from my house. I did not bother to notify the authorities (this time) and Saturday morning I found they had cut my fence, removed and burned a large corner post for their fire. I was not happy, and next time will either pay them a visit, or invite the local deputies to their party.

Jimmy, maybe you need a day job. That was enough excitement for a week, or month. Be careful, your kids and grandkids need you.

Good story, Jimmy. Glad you are OK to tell about it. I have gone all my life so far without hitting a deer, until last night. Much as I tried to brake and avoid her, this big doe just insisted on plowing into my front bumper. I thought I had broken her back, but after a few seconds, she jumped up and ran off. Dang if tonight I didn't have to brake for an 8-point in the middle of the road only a couple of miles from the same scene! As careful as you are, you NEVER know what that other fool is going to do! Oh, and to also keep it legal, I had just left the farm where my Super C is looking up a part number for my carburetor float.
