Almost done with ta job does anyone know of a better way to to roll the engine over to catch all the pressure plate bolts evenly.Front hand crank is broken and bell housing is not bolted to engine frame yet all bolts are started and dowls are still in place 1/4 inch gap between bell housing and engine.Starter is not installed yet,I dont think its good idea to crank engine with loose ppa and bell housing bolts.I can get a pipe wrench on the front crank but its a pain in the @$$.Paul.

Take the spark plugs out and it should turn easily I have done just by taking hold of the fan and turning it.

Tractor vet,I thought of that idea but it just seems like to much pressure on those spring caps dont want to bend or break them.I even took all the spark plugs out hoping to turn the engine with less effort,it was getting late and was down to the last one and that bolt just would not start wanted to cross thred so I decided to quit while ahead tomorrows another day. Thanks for your input.Paul.

I get all the bolts in before i start to tighten As long as ya don't get carried away with the turning and let the comp. bleed down a bit and turn in the direction of rotation all will be fine.

Hi, I have used a long flat screw driver in the starter hole. If the starter bolts are horizontilly across from each other I start the bolts in a few turns and the using a wrench lay it on top of the bolts and use this as a pry piont for the long screw driver.

MAKE SURE IGINITION IS OFF.

Good luck
JB
