can you take off one of the frame rails at a time with out having to block up the tractor?

Yes you can but you should put jack under the belly to support the engine. Good luck.

Ryan, I haven't done it myself, but I asked the same question to a man who has worked on Farmalls for 50 yrs and he said the same thing as Stuart. block or jack under the belly just enough to take the stress off the engine, and then remove the side rail.

Paul I have done it and what will happen without the jack, is it will spring enough so the chanel will not go back on front casting. It will also do the same if you jack too high. When you remove the chanel, all that really holds the front end up is the chanel on other side, it will twist enough for this to happen.

The tractor I did was a 300, we had a Wagner loader on it for a few years. When we removed the loader we discovered chanels had a lot of cracks. We welded the cracks and added 3/8 plate to the outsides of the chanel.
