Well we are having a storm day and I'm at home so I cook. My little grandaughter is here so we made two apple and one bluberry pie. I bolied a dozen eggs to make sandwiches for the hockey team. I am the trainer of a junior team ..Exeter Hawks of the Ontario Hockey Association. When we go on the road we don't like to stop the bus for food as it makes it too late so I whip up eight loaves of sandwiches...egg salad, ham, turkey and bologne...eight loaves disappear in one heck of a hurry. I also make my hamburger soup on storm days. brown a pound of burger, cut up an onion, several carrots and potatoes, some cabbage, celery( about a cup of each) add some pearled barley and season with beef bovril, worchestershire sauce salt and pepper, you can add a cup of tomato juice if you like and water as required..let simmer all afternoon..that's how I spend storm days..oh yeah and I spend more time on YT..... ..Mike in Exeter Ontario

I work till to wet to take it any longer...
Then I fiddle with the Farmall; right now I'm changing a leaky head gasket. The I 'll do some homework(after 40 change of job pace). I am a Cub Scout leader, so I get to work a little on our next Webelos den meeting. Then, to school to get the son. Then back home, dinner, and off to school!

Here in my part of N. Texas when it storms we get mud. In these parts we have what we call gumbo. You pick up about 5 lbs. with each step. I'm just in the garage buildin' hives. My livestock of choice is bees.

I bought a 1989 Kenworth that hit a car that ran a stop sign so I'm in the shop trying to get it ready to haul my tractors and plows to plow days. But before I can work on the truck I have to feed the old cows.

Mike,I've been restoring a F12 from scratch,I've finally have it all together and mostly painted,so with a foot of snow on the ground I decided to take it for a ride around the subdivision, managed to get it stuck once, but it was fun.I am one of a few people in town who owns a tractor and most people give me crazy looks.

Where I at in Eastern Kansas we only have about an inch of snow but we have ice under it. Sunday we got freezing rain all day and then it turned to snow this morning early.

Got to town this morning before the roads got really bad. Picked up some bolts and bull gear pan gaskets. Back home, got some book work done to finish out the morning.

Went to the shop after lunch am working on a SAV. Got the engine pan cleaned up and sanded down and primed. Then applied the sealer and gaskets to the bull gear pans and the engine pan
then bolted them back up. Finished flushing out the transmission and now I am ready to put in new gear oil, engine oil & hydraulic oil. I got the hydraulics drained and cleaned yesterday.

Tomorrow I will get started on the body filler that I need (not to much). Got the hood, grill, and fenders all sanded down last week.

Be glad to see Spring come so that I can get out the pressure washer and finish degreasing and cleaning.

Hi Big John, Im wondering how much $ you could save if you made your own bullgear gaskets over buying? Ill be needin a set for my 49 Super A this spring. I was just thinkin to use the pan as template and use a block with the right size hole and a ball bearing to make the bolt holes. Or are the gaskets that cheap?

I made a lot of the gaskets for my Super A myself and it's not that difficult. The trick it seems is using the right material and making the holes. Some of the first gaskets I made have square holes I cut with a knife until I got a hollow punch set. Also with the final drive pans often the sealing edges are distorted from overtightening the bolts for years. It only takes a couple of minutes so the saving is time as much as money. Hope this helps. SAm in NS

Plow snow, work on my seed order, dream up projects.

I bought a scour cleaner for my (MH) model 60 PT combine from Ontario Tractor Salvage years ago. It could be time put it on.

Hey Mike, can I join your junior varsity team? Sounds like those guys eat real well! Storm days Im in work, just like everyother day, get out of work and go push snow with the Farmall. Too darn cold to do any tractor wrenching, so I retire to the cellar were my woodshop is and get involved with some sort of project. Sounds like your getting a good one, its headed this way.
