I have various years of IHC General Catalogues starting in the late 1920's and a almost complete set of "The Tractor Field Book" from 1941 thru 1958 that I use for exact horsepower or demension quotes. The Tractor Field Book has complete Nebraska Tests for all tractors and makes that were current in each book and condensed Nebraska Tests for most older tractors which were no longer in production at the time of the book issue. The demensions I quoted above were from the IHC entry for the W-9 in the 1952 "Tractor Field Book". Each edition contains most all models of all tractors available each year as well as combines and a number of other powered implements and equipment. They also contain tune up specs, who made most components of each tractor on the market and power unit specs. They even covered walk behind garden tractors. All of the information on each individual model was furnished by the manufacturer to the book company. Some of the manufactureres were more complete with their information than others. The then current model Nebraska Tests show complete signed copies of each test. For general features of some tractors and later models I resort to my memory or actual experience with them. Where I have two or three sources for specs on a particular model, they often have some minor difference in the specs, often because they are taken from a different year. Just for example in 1942 W-9 shows shipping weight 5600 lbs, in 1947 5730 lbs, in 1951 6085 lbs., etc. When I talk about differences in different models I usually do that from memory such as my answers on down this list on the difference of Farmall 1206 vs International 1206. My Daddy worked for and was a IHC dealership starting in 1927 and I worked for the same dealership untill 1980.
