Wonder if JP Tractor Salvage might have the gear you are looking for. They are at: parts@jptractorsalvage.com

Hope this helps.

I have my fathers 46 H on blocks waiting for me to work on and get it going again. My father bought it in about 1952. It had a 9 speed overdrive in it. A part broke and could not get parts. Put in a TSC kit. Moved the 3rd gear almost to 4th regular and 4th gear speed to about 11 mph. We used the 46 H for raking hay. Did not use much gas in 4th gear and half throttle. I just bought a stuck H last weekend with a 9 speed overdrive and a M&W live pto clutch. Do not know much about this tractor except that it is a 52. Contact me by e-mail with a phone number and your location. If I do not get the 52 H engine unstuck easily, I might consider parting it and selling the stripped drivetrain, differential and engine.

If anybody is curious, there's a "H" on ebay with a serial number ending in what I believe is "X9". That would also, according to my book, indicate high speed gears! The seller says serial number ends in "X9I". Think that's a typo though. Will find out shortly.

They are correct, there was very few of the Farmall H tractors made that way, and I happen to have one of them, the faster 4th gear is a nice option. The way to identify one is by the last letter of the serial number, such as mine is, the last 3 digits are, X 1 F. Good luck in your hunt for the gears. Maybe when I get REALLY sick of this tractor, I will sell it. L.o.l. !

Well lets see 4th and 5th sliding gear is made together so yes I have a 5th, but 5th gear is to fast, and regular 4th is to slow. Im using tractor as a pulling tractor and want to get tractor as close to 12 mph and only run 2400 rpm. I believe regular 4th would put me at around 9 mph and fast 4th would be around 11. Isnt 5th around 15 mph at 1700 rpm? I was hoping someone could help me locate a factory "fast 4th" which was supposed to be 7mph at 1700 rpm.

tire size changes speeds alot, factory specs are for 10x38, the taller the tire the faster ya go.
My H has 13.6 x 38 and I beleive road speed would be 18 or maybe 20 mph
