I picked up a free, beat up old plow blade for my H. Mounted in on the loader arms and started to widen it using old truck leaf springs. Lots of weld, lots of heating and bending, but turned out strong as heck! Looks like crap, but moves the snow around so I'm happy. The steel they use in leaf springs is very high quality, so don't underestimate it!

Yeah... Let's see some pictures. How does a 3 inch wide leaf spring move snow?

They make good half soles for Haybine shoes.

The best use for old leaf springs is to cut and grind them down into Abalone irons. Then you go pry an Abalone off a rock in the ocean for the greatest taste treat known to man!

Never have seen it myself, but my Dad told me that an old-timer weldor would use leaf spring sections as manure fork tines for loader buckets. Make perfect sense to me. Spring steel is as tough as it comes. With plasma-arcs as common as they are now, it would be a cinch to cut to length and blow bolt holes in the spring material.
