White Super AV Demonstrator?

I have asked this question before on another forum but the more I work on this tractor the more it puzzles me?
I am knocking out cowl dents and patching rust holes today and this AV was never red. It is now all primer and has been for a long time, under the red oxide primer is white paint. The reason I think that I'm patching rust holes in the hood is because it never had a good paint job.
Was there ever a white demonstrater tractor like the "C"?

Scruffy; I have run into two tractors that I have restored that were originally sold to the Ohio Turnpike Commission. Both were originally painted white as per their specification. One was an Allis 'CA" and the other was a Case "VA". Could be the same possibility on your tractor?.. Gene

Officially Super A's, C's and Cub's were white. But I would bet some Super AV's ended up white. As mentioned Super AV's and Super A's have the same serial number list. Also from what I have read the Louisville IH plant did all the white demo's at one time-first quarter of 1950-and then went back to all red. If they built any AV's in early 1950, it stands to reason they would be white too.

Some say white demo's aren't all that rare. I tend to disagree. Also it seems that there were fewer Super A's than the other white demo's. But for sure I would say the Super AV white demo, if it DOES exist, would be the rarest.

Please post your serial number!
Al

That makes it an early 1949 -- so I don't think it is a true white demo. White demo's are thought to have been produced during the 1st quarter of calendar 1950, your's would be the 1st quarter of 1949. Perhaps someone ordered it painted white. The seat could have been replaced with an earlier one. Look at some casting numbers--for it to be a 1950, most castings should be from late 1949 through early-mid-March 1950, with the oldest casting being made in maybe Sept 1949. (S for 1949, T for 1950).

Could be. SAV's came off the same production line, and serial numbers were mixed together. If the chassis serial is 281269-285298, it probably is.
