I had the pump and injectors rebuilt. The engine starts and runs very good for about 15 seconds, then dies slowly like it is running out of fuel.
All lines are clear, filters are new, and there is a good fuel supply going into the pump. Is
there another filter or screen inside the pump?
Thanks, as always!

Bob-
There is another filter inside the pump. It is in the end of the pump body right below where the 90 elbow that the fuel supply line goes into on the end of the pump. If you unscrew the elbow and remove the larger nut below the elbow, the filter will come out of the housing. It is a brass screen type filter. Second thought here, is the fuel shut off lever all the way forward? Try pushing it forward manually, and see if that makes any difference. I've worked on these pumps where the fuel shut off lever is just a hair backwards toward the off position and the tractor behaves like you describe.

Is your return line unobstructed, or for that matter, installed. It fits between the injection pump and the fuel tank. The pump rebuilder may have installed a temporary plastic plug.

There is a check valve in the return line in the bottom of the tank. It may be plugged or stuck.

Good point. Some diesel fuel systems also have a restricter fitting on the return line. If that is missing or plugged, it will affect fuel delivery.
