Mark, If you are talking about the deluxe seat with the shock absorber and large spring, I can help you out. I just rebuilt mine. I bought all the parts I needed, to include a new spring, shock absorber and bushings from OEM. You should remove the shock absorber first, then the spring and finally the pivot shaft. The hardest part for me was getting one of the bolts out of the pivot shaft. If you're not in a hurry use some PB Blaster and let it do its thing for a day or two. In the meantime squirt and tap the bolt. When you're ready, one of the bolts should break loose and back on out. I used a pipe wrench to hold the shaft and a wrench on the stuck bolt. Once it started it came on out. When you are ready to put seat back together take a look at the solid pivot shaft. You should see a slight built-up area on either side of the shaft, about an inch in from the ends. Now find a couple of washers that will barely slide onto the shaft and stop against the raised portion of the shaft, while having a small enough outside diameter that will allow them to enter the ends of the hollow tube that the pivot shaft goes through. These washers will prevent the new bushings from going past this point when you tighten the bolts up. The assembly should all go back together in this order. Slide the pivot shaft through the hollow support tube. Slide your washers on each side of the shaft followed by the new rubber bushings. (The longer tapered end of the bushing goes into the hollow tube.) If you have it, dab a little white lithium grease on the ends of the bushings. Now squeeze the support assembly between the brackets on the seat base and screw in the bolts, using new flat and lock washers. Replace the spring and then install the shock absorber. As a safety issue you should use a new spring. When a spring breaks there is nowhere for you to go except back into or under the equipment you are pulling. Hope this helps. Fred - Kansas
