Where can I get a replacement sicle bar?

I have a 6 or 7 ft IH sicle mower--not sure which model, but bolts over the drawbar. PTO drives a pulley with a v-belt which then moves the pitman.

The heavy cast iron/steel bar with the big fingers is there, but the smaller bar with the cutting teeth that goes inside is missing.

Who sells replacements and about how much $$ is this going to set me back.

I also need a new pitman stick.

I have always checked and if it was worn I would put a new pin and bushing in mine when I put in a new sickle. I just cut weeds and it takes a beating. Have a windrower for alfalfa and the sickle has a hard life. Most of us are guilty of neglecting our mowers I know I am for sure. When I work on mine evey year or so I put in new gaurds and sickle and rebuild the sickle once during the life of the guards

Sounds like you and I have pretty much the same mower. I just rplaced my sickle with a brand new one from Fleet Farm about a year ago. Cost was right around $50 if memory serves me. Don't know what part of the country you're in but if you've got a Fleet Farm or Farm & Fleet around, check there. Pitman is another story. Probably CIH dealer.

Try your local tractor supply store. they should have both parts. Sickles will run about $80, pitmans less than $15. If it's set up like the one by me, the sickles and pitmans will be in the very back right hand corner. They should also have a card telling the employees what SKU number to look for for your model mower, if you can't find it yourself. They can raincheck them in for you too, takes 2-4 weeks.

Michael; Take the old parts with you when you go looking for the new. Is there a sickle repair shop near by. They would have what you need.
