I have located an H and an M.I only have 7 acres and know that the H would be better but the M has a wide front end and a loader. It also has live hydraulics. My questions are one, will the M be too big.and what do the live hydraulics provide for you that one without can't do.

Buy 'em both. If you are going to use them, two tractors are much more handy than one.

If you can find a 1954 super H, It would have the live hydraulics.

Buy them both. The M is much harder on fuel if that is a concern. The loader would be nice, but it is a pain in the butt, with a loader on, doing a lot of non loader things. Also power steering on the M will make your life a lot easier. If it has the armstrong steering as most did you will need a 2 x 4 to steer it with a bucket full of dirt.

I would go with the M.. live hydraulis means that you will not lose hydraulic power when you step on the clutch. Very nice if the loader is plumbed to the live pump(some loaders run off a separate pump on the rear pto which is not "live"). Since it has a wide front and a loader, that is a good package deal. If you were to add the same things to the H, it would cost you more in the end. Of course, you could always buy them both!
