I have a SMTA with a "christmas tree" type remote velve. I use it to operate the 3 point on the tractor but I need another valve to turn a roll over type plow. I realized with the open center system the valves had to be in series. Originally the pressure line tee d to the remote valve pressure port then went to the inlet of the lift all. Return line goes from the lift all ant Ts to the return from the remote. This seemed to be original IH setup, remote worked fine as long as lift all lever locked back. I added another single spool open center remote valve on the side on the battery box. I removed the T in the pressure line from the inlet of the original remote. I put a t in the pressure line near the lift all inlet and ran to the inlet of the new valve. hose from the outlet of the new valve went to the inlet of the IH valve. Left return as it was. When you pulled back on IH valve, handle would lift on other remote valve. If you had weight on the 3 point, from the IH valve, it would not lift unless you held the other valve handle down. I replumbed it with the pressure line going to IH valve, outlet of IH valve goes to inlet of other valve, outlet of other valve goes to inlet of lift all housing. Return line from liftall goes to pump. At first would lift 3 point but very slowly, ih valve handle fell into foreward position when you get go of it. I filled lift all box. Now does not lift 3 point, actls like no pressure for a bit then will labor and pressure line tightens, valve handle hard to move. I am wondering if it may be a volume issue as I ran a 1/2 inch line from outlet of ih valve to new valve and 1/2 inch line to lift all. Am I not getting enough oil through system? Needing help!!!!!

Sorry, you lost me with that verbal blueprint. I have three SMTAs with two-way power beyond the lift-all. All have fast hitches. One of them has PS.

What I did was take the lift-all pressure port and pipe it into a three spool open center valve mounted vertically on the left side of the battery box. The return from the valve goes into a filter before entering the lift-all reservoir. The valves are dead unless I pull back on the lift-all control or lock it in the "on" position. The system works well and is very simple.

Although I have several "christmas tree valves" (IH remote valve), I think they are on my H and SH.

sorry about the long description, wish I could do a diagram as it would tell a lot more. I am basically using the christmas tree valve as one Hydraulic vavle. I am wondering if perhaps it and/or the other valve I am using will not work together. Also now wondering if I have reduced oil flow too much with the smaller lines. Tried to use what I had but perhaps it is time to "bite the bullit" and buy a double valve and replace both of the ones I am using.

I am writing these posts without actually looking at my tractors.

Yes, it seems to me that power from the lift-all could go to the christmas tree "in" port and flow out of the "out" port. That should leave two ports for two-way power at that valve. From the "out" port run a hose to your other valve. Send the return back to the reservoir.

I think the power path could also go this way.

Pump outlet to christmas tree inlet
Christmas tree outlet to liftall inlet
liftall outlet to spool valve inlet
spool valve outlet to filler plug opening in reservoir.

Either way you will not need Tee's except at the reservoir plug opening. That will be necessary to fill the reservoir with oil.

I believe all the high pressure ports on the tractor (this includes the pump) are 1/2". That size will be OK
