Discussion Forum Format

Anyway, some of you did not like the change - and some were overjoyed with gratitude that the change was made!

So I've decided to go back to how it was, BUT changed the [+] sign to say [expand] so that more people might be able to take advantage of it. But you can ignore it if you like the old format.

You'll only see this affect the newest discussions. Can't change the old ones.

I also make a practice of looking for genuine questions, that for some reason never get a responce. If I remotely know anything on that subject, I try and get something going on that. I think it is a shame some of these do get missed. Particularly if the person is a first timer. I think we should do more make sure that first timer does not go un noticed. IF I think back to the first time I ever posted on YT forums, had no one responded, how long would it have been before I came back? May be never. It takes a certain amount of intestinal fortitude to come on here and subject your questions or views for the scrutiny of these guys. I personally think we as a group should elect a committee to welcome and make sure these new people don't get left out. That committee could also be, now that you have disclosure, alerted when a new person comes along. Not so much to fall all over them with a welcome , just make sure they feel welcome, by making sure they get answers. Just my thoughts.

The only gripe I have is with the search function. When I use the back button, the program usually makes me re-type my search words. As a consequence, I rarely use it anymore. I consider it to be one of the most useful features of this site. There is a wealth of info lurking there.

I really like what you do, and thank you for all your effort! The change made a good presentation, except for a minor thing... When a thread is opened, only the first one shows as read. That's fine, but any later posts are likely to go unnoticed. I think your change back with the enlarged 'expand' icon is a good one.

Keep doing what you are doing, it is a great forum and it all works well. Either way is good for me, so whatever the multitude prefers or you prefer is fine.

This is a wonderful asset to the care of old tractors.

I always dislike any type of change but you always improve things here.

I always used the "+" because I think it takes the same amount of time to open the entire string unless there are photo's present.
