Hi all,

Well, after many years of pondering and ruminating (and shopping and shopping), I finally took the plunge and bought a '41 Farmall A! Can't wait to take delivery. Good thing spring is upon us! I'm really excited. This is my first tractor (other than a lawnmower!).

I'd eventually like to get an original A/B dozer/snow blade for it, so if anyone has suggestions on where to look, I'd be most grateful.

Cheers,

Butch

Looks good! I was in the same situation as you until 2000. Mines a '53 Super A with the same Woods mower. Cuts and pushes snow well. Looks like yours has new tires.

FarmAll A; Well you've done it now. You have been bitten and there may be lots of fun and of course some pain to go with it.
Get yourself a tractor repair manuan one way or another. Looks like it is good running condition. Maybe with chains it will do some fluff and semi-fluff snow pushing. If you can tolerate the cold, winds and blowing snows you may even enjoy this beast during the dregs of winter. Good luck
you lucky dog.

congrads ,nice looking tractor, but two things you need to know, the first is now that you have one that will lead to another and another and another and so on,so you better have a big shed ,and the second is if your looking for something what i have found is don't look for it,it will find you,i looked for about 5 years for a 460-560 tractor and just never found anything i liked or in my price range,so pretty much gave up on it,then one day leaving town for work and go past the jd dealer and there in the very back sets a 460 or so, so i go back and it's a 460 utility needing work give em 1250 for it and just needs points and a battery, and i couldn't be happier.same thing happens for the job i have looked all over and nothing, gave up looking and bam falls in my lap,for that matter the girlfriend was the same way, looked high and low and didn't like any of em gave up and bam there she was and the only complaint if you can call it that is she won't drive my riding lawnmowers or tractors

Butch, Thats a great looking 41 you have there. I know you'll have a lot of enjoyment driving it whether for work or pleasure. I have a 40 that I'm now in the process of restoring. Like yours it is equiped with,(as my Dad used to say), an "Armstrong starter". Meaning: All you need to start it is a strong arm. Happy mowing, Happy tractoring in general. Oh, I saw a front blade for an "A" on E-Bay. I don't know if it is still there. Im sure it isnt the last one in the world, so be patient and I'm sure you'll find all the implements you want.

That's a beauty, and should mow like crazy. And I bet you paid less than a riding lawn mower.

congratulations Butch, I know you will enjoy the
A. I own a 1940, which is one year older than me.
I enjoy every minute that I spend on it mowing with the belly mower. I promised my wife that I
would let her mow this summer with it, she is very
excited about it.

I own 7 tractors, and tell everyone that there is something wrong with my marriage cause my wife
encourages me to buy more tractors!

Hee Hee. Your wife and mine seem to have much in common. I think my wife just likes getting me out of the house for hours on end. "Where's Dan? Oh, he's in the barn messing with his tractors."
