I'm thinking about converting my 230 Fast Hitch to a 3-pt and am considering the Worksaver adapter kit with the slide-in lower arms and bolt-on top link bracket. Does anyone have experience with this kit on a 230? Does it work OK?

Also, does anyone know of an alternative to the Worksaver kit?

I have one on my 230. Works great. I do wish it had the adjustability of the crank to raise lower one side like a "normal" 3 point but for most applications, its fine. Saginaw makes one as well that is frame mounted (have to take off the 2 pt) that folks say is very nice. BobG in VA

Thanks, BobG. That's encouraging, even though the Worksaver seems pricey at around $340 plus freight. Our 230's must be set up a little different because I do have a leveling cramk on the right-hand side. Did you bolt on the top link bracket in place of the belt pulley shaft? Any concern here about strength and do you have problems with top link and PTO clearance?

The Saginaw you mentioned looks like good equipment but I want the option of using the original Fast Hitch with the implements I already have for it. If I understand the set up correctly, the Worksaver would allow me to do that.

Neet that you have the crank. My 230 is a '57 with a low serial (17XX J). Answer is yes the top link bracket bolts on where the pulley bracket is located. No problem on strength, four bolts that are at lease 4 inches long (top link doesn't absorb as much engergy anyway). I had a 6 foot brush hog on it and had no problem (need to us an overrunning coupler though). Keeping the 2pt for other uses: Yes that's why I went with the Worksaver as well. Quick change over so I can hook up the plow or a sickle mower, etc. Since you have the crank on the side, you have the best of both worlds. Does anyone know if an aftermarket crank is available or can be rigged to fit?? BobG in VA

I haven't found the exact aftermarket part for that purpose, but I've seen some things that look like they might work, or could with a little ingenious adaptation. Some of the parts to the various Worksaver hitches resemble the part you're looking for and maybe you can order that part separate from the whole hitch package. Take a look at their Model # HK 102 and it might give you some ideas. You might also call Saginaw (810)-638-5787 and see if they can put you on to something.
