Well now that I know what torque to put on the head bolts, I went out and pulled the rocker bar to set it.Got them all to 75, and the last one got to 65 then went limp on me...
Pulled the whole stud out to find the lower 3 -4 threads had stripped. I began looking for a new stud..but my dad came and chased the threads, and got em good as new. Put it on and it went to 75 no problem. Putting the rocker bar on, the nuts that hold it on were difficult to get all the way down. One got stuck, and while backing it off, the whole stud loosened! So I pulled it, cleaned it, chased the threads and reinstalled!
Ill set the lash tomorrow! Still donr know what carb I have, and cant find a magneto. Still need a complete seat/toolbox assembly. If I can get a battery box and a wiring set, Ill have it turning over! I tested the starter with my mower batt. and it kicked hard and spun! Tommy, gettin er done, in Fl
