Just finished up a restoration on my 41h after about 2 years of work, looks great and runs great but I cant get a low idle on it.Before I had it apart it would idle down to nothing.Have adjusted the carb and the idle screw but will only come down to what I would call one third speed. The only way is to retard the timing and then no power and poor starting.Believe when I put it back together the tab from gov tube to carb went in correctly.Any ideas?

Just loosen the two screws on each end of the tube from the gov. to carb. while idling, move the tube up or down which ever seems to let the tractor idle down and tighten the 4 screws back up. good luck!

Did you adjust the throttle linkage any when you put it all back toghether, could be that or you could have some paint that is keeping it from moving right.

Disconnect governor control rod. Check the throttle plate is closing down, not bent or off center. Make sure governor rod is not holding up idle. Check for any manifold carb gasket leaks. Adjust air screw to get best idle. Idle down, adjust again.

After trying everything else, replacing the throttle shaft bushing was what fixed it on my H.
