Yeah, it was a glorious day for a sale. Some buys were to be had..... ....Others weren't. What was wrong with that '06 that it wouldn't start when they were selling it? You don't know what the 656 brought in the 3rd field do ya? We left after I got what I wanted..... ....

TP - Yes, there were some buys there. Some high prices too, but some buys.
Nothing was wrong with the 706. They started it and had it running for a while early on. Sounded good. The owners then shut it off and talked for a while with my brother. I do not know why they didn't restart it when it was time to sell. We walked back up to it later in the day, hopped on it, and it fired right back up. The only problems we can find so far is that it doesn't like to go into high range. It will go, but it takes some persuasion. Have to look into it.
Don't quote me, as I can't quite remember for sure, but that 656 was up over $3000 when I walked away. Not sure what the final price was. She looked nice, but was used pretty hard. 3-point wouldn't stay up, and it only went up about half-way. The draft and the flow controls were missing. Was some nice Red iron to be had there though. The 560D and the 856D in the second field were both very nice.

Wow! Glad I didn't stay..... .....Yeah, that old 560 shoulda came home with me, but they got more for that than we paid for a 706D there last spring..... .....That one 1066 wasn't too bad of a buy(Not the $9500 one)..... .....And the 450 and Super C next to it were cheap.

I stayed for the 504..... ..Got it bought, but paid alittle more than I wanted too. Works pretty good, just needed the rear end filled.

Did you get anything else there? Seems I can't go near that place without dragging something home..... ....

The only thing I bid on was a small NH skidsteer over in the 3rd field. Went pretty high though.
The Super C you refered to was mine, and the 450 was my brothers. They did both go cheap, but we made money on both of them because we bought them so cheap. A simple case of running out of room in the barn, so something had to go. I will miss the Super C though. Looking for an H now. Do you know what that H right down from my Super C went for?
My brother's neighbor had a wide front 504D for sale. Very nice condition. Wanted a pile of money for it though. What is your opinion of those tractors?

So far I like this 504 gasser..... ...I bet the Diesel would use hardly any fuel!

The H that was paint brought $1200..... ....Seen one last fall bring $550 and it ran!

I actually bid acouple times on that 450..... ...I finally desided that I didn't need another one(Smile).....

Do you happen to know what that little Gehl Sideloader brought?

Sorry, but I am not sure of the Gehl you are asking about.
That 504 looks nicer in your pictures than it did at the sale! $2300 seems like a good price to me for a tractor and loader. Good job!
I didn't get to hear that H run at the sale. It sure looked nice though. I will probably wait until the fall sale there to try to pick up an H. I remember several were there last year in the fall. Hopefully another $550 H will be there!

Opps, I meant Gehl Skidloader..... .Little thing, no cage, and it was painted. Had a 20 hp Onan in it.

Yeah, I probably shoulda bought that "H" and painted it..... ....Re-sold it. Maybe I'll see you at the fall sale.

I know exactly which Gehl you are referring too. Twin stick job with recent paint.
I don't know what it went for though. Needed some ROPS, that's for sure.
See you in the fall.

TP,

If you don't mind, what did you pay for your 504 and what kind of shape is it in?

I just brought one home about 2 weeks ago with a IH 2001 loader. It is my first tractor since I was a kid. I have only used it for a little loader work so far, but it seems good and strong. I am considering modifying the loader a little. It hangs pretty far over the front end (might it have been designed for a Farmall) and can lift the rear wheels enough to loose traction when I pick up something heavy. Of course a 55 gallon drum filled with concrete is pretty good ballast in the rear also and probably cheaper/easier than modifying the loader.

I am still trying to get some pictures to post.

TIA,

Kirk

Well, I only wanted to spend $2000 for it..... ..... But considering that it ran good, T/A and brakes work, and I made my two buddies, and my brother stand in the rain waiting for it I ended up getting it for $300 more than that. Not a bad tractor, had alittle steering whine, but the rear end was low on oil..... .....Works good now.

Wow,

That seems like a steal to me. Did it come with the loader for that price too?

Mine is a utility with the wide front end and clam shell fenders. Cosmetically mine looks cleaner and like yours everything is working.

Paid most of twice what you did. Until, just now I was happy with that.

Kirk

Yeah, the loader came with it..... ..Although I believe the cylinders need rebuilt. The tractor is pretty clean..... ..I got it really dirty loading stuff for friends at the sale the next day.

Is the tach/hour meter operating? Mine is not, reads 1500 hours.
