I have an IH 2400A that the power steering operates as if the engine was not running. It is very hard to turn. Fluid level is ok, new fluid & filter. Lift works, but some times comes all the way up un-stopable on its own. Brakes work ok. No noise (as with air in system), PTO operater ok.
Where is the flow divider and does it have a MCV as 454. Haven't found any dealers around to check with. Thanks

Thanks Benard, I think I know which one it is. Is it located on the bottom of the MCV toward the right side, will check tomorrow. I removed the one on the left side near the bottom today and behind the plug was a self contained valve with a screw slot on it facing the plug with the flow to pass from the rear of tractor toward the front. If this is incorrect please let me know.
Thank you
David

Hi David, it have a MCV like a 454. The flow-divider valve is under the MCV, it's the thick plug. Remove the plug, the spring and the valve. It may have scratch on the valve, take a fine emery paper and sand the scratch. Bernard le mécano Québec Canada

Sounds like the problem I am having with my 2400A. On occasion the rear lift will raise up on its own and stay. The tractor is under a strain when this happens. I am hoping for answers. Did you get your problem worked out?

Hi, the first year we had our 454 it would occassionally stop suppling hydraulic oil to the power steering. This was the scenario while plowing come to the end of the field lift the 3pt plow and the there would be no PS. Since it was under warranty dealer replaced both hydraulic pump and splitter valve as he called it. They both are under the left running board.

Maybe you can raise Bernard le Mecano's interest.
He knows these tractors very well.

Good luck
JB
