Look at the letter on the casting number on the transmision case, If it is an Y or X or A or B it is a 300 or a350

X would be a 1952 H, Y would be an H made in early 1953 or a Super H. Z is a 1954 Super H or a late 1954 300, A and B are the 300, B can also be a late 1956 350. Or it could be any H from 1939 (I) thru 1951 (u or W). Very likely an H equipped with a 9 speed.

The HTA does not exist. Someone put H sheetmetal on a 300 or 350. Or maybe put a 300/350 rearend on the front end from an H.

If it doesn't have a TA but still has 2 speeds in each gear, it might have a Heisler or M&W 9-speed.

Heisler was a company very similar to M&W, they built after market add on improvements, governor rebuild kits, overdrive transmission kits, etc.
