Can any of you A wizzards tell me if this is actually a plow for an A? No numbers that I can find. I got it with my A about 15 years ago, and have never used it. Is it worth a post here or on e-bay? The beam, board, shin and share look like new. It's cleanup time at poverty patch so it's gonna go one way or another!
Thanx
Ron

I stated that our plow was for an A/SA. Didn't realize there was a difference in the two. Ours was bought new with a '53 Super A.

You are short several pieces. The beam is too short for an A. Could maybe go on a SUPER A as they used the reversed drawbar to hook the beam to. Cant see any holes for a rolling cutter or the lift brackets or a guide wheel. I have one for an A and the beam is longer than yours. Any way you are short lots of pieces to make this thing work.

Ron: Your plow is a model A-189 one furrow, two way plow. designed for your SA there was also a Cub version. Unless you have the lift rockshaft that goes on back of tractor your plow is not worth very much. For that plow the rockshaft is a special type with a trip lever allowing only one side to lower at a time. Your coulters also appear to be missing.

Say there HUGH those are both right hand bottoms the one with the spring loaded hitch could work on a SUPER A with the drawbar reversed couldnt it? The one does have a bracket for a coulter.

gene: My mistake, I just didn't look at them close enough and figuring two plows that came with a tractor he bought would be the 189. On closer examination those plows are different. I'm thinking SA and Cub.

How can you tell from pics if this is an A/SA or a Cub plow? We have an A plow and it looks exactly like this one.

Ron:

I am no wizard, but I have a plow that looks just like that. This one is the left hand side of the Cub-189 Two Way Moldboard plow and the second one is the Cub-193 or the right hand side of the plow.

It can be used with the A, but it is better suited to the Cub. Just so you know - I just paid a little better than $300.00 Cdn for mine.

Either way, it is a good plow and worth a few pennies.

You can check it out by clicking on the link below which will take you to the Cub manual server, click on Cub Implement Manuals then the Cub-189 Moldboard Plow manual.

Hope this helps
