I have a nice little '47A that we have restored and it runs great. When I drive it on hard surfaces though I get alot of steering/front wheel wobble. It appears to be slop in the steering box. Is there a good way to adjust this out or fix it? I havent torn the steering box apart yet. It doesn't steer hard or lock up.

Eventially you will not be able to keep the tie rods on. That is when you will have to rebuild the steering box which is not cheep.

I recently re-built the steering on my cub and the axle pin bushings were worn letting the axle play side to side and causing awful wobble in road gear. Rebuilding the steering box wouldn't have helped here.

Could it be the speed wobbles!!
Dont forget to check toe in/out. Within the steering box there is a sector gear. This wears and yiou cant flip it over. Dont forget to change all the seals and consider filling it up with grrease as opposed to tranny oil.

The tie-rods can be tightened alsothe steering sector can be rebuilt new bushings bearings so forth also the drag link on the steering sector is probably loose.

And don't forget wear in the woodruff key that connects the steering sector gear to the output shaft.
