Has anyone heard of swaping a engine from a IH swather 201 or 210 and putting it in a A,B,or C IH tractor. Please give me some input and tell me if it is possible, have a 210 swather with good engine setting around and would like to get my grandfathers super C going again. Thank You

The flywheel needs to be machined to accept the pilot bushing. The other thing to think about is does it have the opening in the front bottom right hand corner for the hydraulic pump? Hope this helps, SAm in NS

The swather power units I have seen had the pump opening, even though the pump was elsewhere on the swather, and belt driven. The pump mounting hole was blocked off with a plate.

A neighbor bought a swather engine (210, I believe), from me some years ago and put it in an "A". The power unit engine was not equipped for the pilot bearing, and he had to do some machining there, and I think one of the bolt holes in the front of the engine did not match. On the "A", there was some water fitting re-wok needed, as the original engine did not have a water pump. That may not be an issue with your "C".

The governor high idle on the power unit will probably be set way above the setting on your "C".

The conversion has worked out real well for him, lots of extra power for his finishing mower.

Thanks for your input, my next question is what do you do about the exhaust manifold and carb, because the swather has exhaust pipe coming out horizontally instead of vertically like on the tractor. And would you use the flywheel from the c engine on the 210 swather engine? I was told that only the 201 swather engine would work does anyone know which swather it is 201 or 210? Or would you be able to swap either one. Thank You, Terry
