For one reason or another, your spark plug is not tight enough, or the gasket area of the plug or head is damaged, and combustion products are "weeping" out, and showing up as an oily substance.

No matter what condition your engine is in, if the plug is properly sealed to the head, there will be no leakage at the sparkplug.

Does it miss or will it run ok?? How much oil has it used?? Sounds like poor valve guides or the little rubber seals around the valve stems were not put on correctly.
If it was mine I would pull the dickens out of it for a few hours and see if it dries up and watch the oil level

runs fine. no miss. new guides / seals. new seats and valves upgraded for unleaded gas. $400.00. will try new spark plugs again. it does not seem to use oil. rings seem to have seated ok. probably needs more hours for complete break in. thanks.
