I just bought several older IH tractors and need some info.

How can you tell if one of these has the TA ?

I have an A that I am sure does not, a Super M, an LP 450 with a single front tire, and a W4.

Thanks in advance for any info on these, by the way what was a W-4 designed for anyways ?

THE POSSE;
A 113CID GAS 4F-1R 16.1HP 2014LBS
W4 152CID GAS 5F-1R 30.8HP 3816LBS
M SUP 264CID GAS 5F-1R 44 HP 5140LBS
450 281CID LP 10F-2R 56.7HP 6000LBS
THE FARMALL 45O WAS STD. WITH A TA (TORQUE AMPLIFIER. NICE FEATURE IN THE PULL DEPT.
ALL HP RATINGS ABOVE ARE PTO. TA DROPS THE FORWARD SPEED DOWN ABOUT 33% IN EACH GEAR.
YOU HAVE A GOOD POSSE. RUN THEM PROUD.

You need to get some manuals for your machines and learn all about them

The ta is a handle on the left side of the seat. The 450 you got should have one. I wish i had a MTA. The W-4 is a standard tread version of the H, H- W-4 M W-6 Then the W-9. These were used in the praires. Then the supers, SM-SW-6. They didnt come out with a s4 or s9. Hope this helps a little. other guys know the hp and stuff like that.

Of that list, only the 450 could have TA. It was an option though, so you'll have to look at your particular tractor.
A W4 is the "wheatland" or standard version of the Farmall H.
