My favorite of all time. Spent many hours in the seat of one as a kid. Other than the usual stuff with tractors of this era, like the TA, there really isn't anything particularly notorious. These didn't really have enough power to tear up the rear end like the larger ones.

I don't know if we just had a bad engine or bad mechanics, but my Dad had to have the engine rebuilt three times within a few years before he finally gave up and let it knock. It appeared to be piston slap in the #1 cylinder. The old girl knocked like crazy, but ran for 10 years on the loader like that. Just last fall I found a DT360 out of an old bus on Ebay. We had it put in and it's a whole new tractor.

They are a darn good tractor we have owned two of them, although I much prefer the diesel (German). I've never seen another IH tractor that size use less fuel than the diesels they run forever on a tank of fuel. Really are not know for having any specific problems for their model. That tire size is a good one for that tractor. The fast hitch is probably one of the reasons the price is so good.

Really not too many major problems with a 756. It is probably one of the best IH's you can buy. Make sure it is quiet in reverse. If you hear a loud clunking sound, someone has engaged the park lock while the tractor was still rolling and broke a gear tooth. That's about the most common problem. Shifting linkage can get pretty sloppy as it wears out, but that's easy to fix. Price seems about right to me.
