What is it?

On my 49 C I something that I originally thought was to adjust the clutch until I got my book. It's not covered in my book either.

From the clutch pedal, there is a rod that extends to the clutch lever, for lack of a better term. On the opposite side, but still on the lever, there is a bolt with a locking nut on it. The bolt is cone shaped on the thread end.

I now know that you adjust the clutch through the hand hole, is this bolt for minor adjustments? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Jay

MY THOUGHT IS THAT IS THE STOP FOR THE CLUTCH PEDAL SO IT DOSENT LET YOU GET THE RELEASE ARM INTO THE PRESSURE PLATE FINGERS.

Jay: Not sure I follow what you are describing. My first question is it brake adjustment?

Nope, not brakes - it moves with the clutch pedal. Tomorrow if I get time I'll take a picture of it. Thanks =)

Jay,
If I understand what you are saying.....from your clutch pedal there is a rod that goes back and hooks to a lever.
This lever is on the ouside, then a round shaft goes though a bored hole(bearing surface) and on the other side is the lever that works the cluch linkage.
This lever on the opposite side from where the linkage from the peddle hooks, has the bolt and jam nut.
All the bolt and jam nut does is hold the lever on the shaft and also indexes it to the right place.
When you say it is cone shaped, do you mean it is cone shaped on the end that goes inside the lever?

Am I correct in my thinking ?
Gary
