What's the difference between the B-221 and B-238 cultivators for a Farmall B?

The B-221 is the gang shifting cultivator, popular in areas that checkrowed. There were typically 4 points on the front and a 7 point rear. The B-236 (round beam) and B-238 (square beam) did not steer and had separate sections mounted on each side of the front. They typically carried 8 points on the front and only 3 on the back.

Wow! I read the above, jumped in my truck, and drove out to the Yesteryear Musuem here in Salina, Ks to see what my C had on it - a 238! Thanks so very much.

The numbers didn't necessarily track from one tractor model to another. Your C cultivator probably matches the basic description of the B-238 but uses universal mounting frames on the front. That should be a model C-244.

Thanks. According to that, I have a B-238.
