Please everyone protect your children! In the past week in the Frederick Md. area we have had 2 children killed in tractor accident. One father had his 3y.o. on his lap while raking hay with a narrow front tractor that hit a groundhog hole and the child fell under the back wheel. The other child a 5 Y.O girl was killed while playing hide and seek in a field her mother was bush-hogging, the mom had given her chores to do but kids will become easily distracted. WATCH THAT CHILD

Please join me in saying a prayer for those parents, I can't imagine what they are going through.

Also, take time to thank or remember a Vet. this Memorial Day.

God Bless

I am sure that I will be receiving some nasty grams on this post.

The account of the accidents didn't seem plausable to me so I did a Google News search and a Google Web search on "frederick tractor" and nothing came up regarding accidents.

Please lay off the hype and give it to us straight. I will apologize if you post the URL of the news stories.

A prime example of similar hype is all the missing children descriptions on milk cartons.

An even worse example is the WMD in Iraq. That one lie has cost us over 800 lives. And don't tell me that a couple of Sarin shells is worth that kind of loss.

The New York Times was very embarrassed last year when they published fabricated stories from a reporter who was out of control.

What a boorish post! You wouldn't happen to be one of those guys who think that the Apollo missions to the moon where all faked and done in water tanks by any chance would you?

You must be a real ray of sunshine to those around you.

That's a non-sequitor if I ever saw one. Stay on topic and I might give you a decent rebuttal.

Talk about needing to provide more information! How did Wardner become such a cynical person! What information do you have that children on milk cartons is a fraud? I would love to hear it. Would you have us all ignore these and perhaps fail to aid a child in distress? And what about this WMD issue? Sarin IS a WMD and we didn't need to see it to know Saddam had it. You would be hard pressed to find any Kurdish-Iraqi who hasn't had a family member exposed to it. I might also add that the WMD issue is not the only reason we are in Iraq. UN treaty violations and numerous civil atrocities (2000 prisoners murdered to make room for 2000 more at a certain infamous prison?) also figure into the mix. The original post was legit and topical and it was wrong to attack it. You seem to be willing to put a lot of faith into a Google search. How about a little faith for your country, the men and women serving it, and a little more fitting memorial on this special day for those who have fallen.

Go to the site below for an article on milk cartons.

Link

Nobody wants to say if they work. The figures do not correlate with other countries on a per capita basis. More than half of the portraits are run-aways and they don't want to be caught. These "public service" efforts are nothing more than "wanted" posters similar to what you can see down at the post office. The pictures are randomly harvested from police files and no effort is made to qualify the children as "distressed"

WMD was THE selling point that the Bush Administration used on us and attempted to use on the rest of the world. It didn't correlate with the findings of the UN inspectors. Not a problem. Bush, and Powell under his direction, chose to ignor or discredit the UN reports. The premise of WMD has proven to be false and we will pay dearly for that lie. I won't deny being a cynic.

AMEN. Just like we weren't in Laos and Cambodia in 67-69 either. Just because YOU WEREN'T IN A PARTICULAR PLACE AT A PARTICULAR TIME DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Harley

I am a 1967 Vietnam vet having served with the USMC in I Corps. We ran patrols into the Ho Chi Minh trail on a regular basis. We engaged the NVA in the DMZ on several Battalion sized operations. Don't think you can teach me too much.

BTW, I probably own more Harleys than you, but I don't make it part of my identity like most deranged Hawg freaks.

I am who I am and use my own name. I post my email address. My whole name is included in it.

I was referring only to the original poster not providing information one might use to validate the truth of a serious matter posted. This is the internet. Too many hoaxters. As to Wardner's other comments, or your comments, directed at me or otherwise, I have no comment.

Lee - None of my comments were directed at you, but to the previous post. I share your view of the internet for the most part. I'll get off my soap box and leave it at that.
