I have an H with a blown engine,my neighbor has an old combine ,I don't know the # of it for sure, but I think it might be a 90 or 91,it's definately not a 93 , it has an open station and it steers with steering clutches like a dozer. It has a real good engine. It has some differences but the block and head look like the H. Can anyone say if any part of the combine engine will fit. I know the governor, manifolds and oil pan will be different but that's all I can see. Need an IH expert.

I just went through the C153 combind engine thing for my IH 504 - Look the blocks over very carefully. At the rear of the block the combind C153 is rounded off the tractor block is squared off the bolt hole pattern is different. The combind 153 is narrow where it attaches to the tractor compaired to a tractor block. You could use a Hot-Rod method and make an adaptor plate to get the engine can get mounted. Unless you have access to a machine shop this gets expensive. I came very close to trying an adptor plate but on my tractor it presented other issues because the tractor would become slightly longer. Your H would present less issues so you have a good idea and is still a good option but it is not a quick switch. Now I'm no expert but I do not believe there are many internal engine parts that would fit your H out of a combind engine. The combind engine I bought did not have sleeves, similar to my 504 gas engine. I'm not sure about the head at all, so no help there. One other thing, that combind engine probably runs better now than any used H engine you will find in the junk yards. Good luck on your project.

Many of the 153 and 135 swather and combine engines did not have a pilot bearing hole, or the pilot bearing in the crank shaft
