Super A carb dripping

I purchased a Super A that has a dripping carb. The carb drips so bad, the previous owner pulled the bottom of the air cleaner. I've put a kit in it and adjusted the float level to spec. Still leaks. No foreign matter in the needle and seat. I've rebuilt a couple of hundred carbs, most worked fine the first time, some required a couple of adjustments to work correctly. Am I missing something here that is causing this dripping? If you move the float manually, it shuts off with the gas line connected. The float is not rubbing on the bowl, and the float moves freely. I'm about to junk this and search for another one. Any advice?

It's a good idea on these old tractors to always shut off the gas when you park them. In fact, shutting off the gas and letting them run until the gas is gone out of the carb is a good idea if they are going to sit for a long time.

Is it a Carter UT carb? And does it drip while it is running? The reason I ask is that I have one on my C and it drips after it has been shut down for a while. It will leak the entire tank out if you do not shut down the fuel valve. I finally gave up on it and just shut off the gas at the tank when I am done with it. Dad done this for years on this tractor due to dripping carb, and I thought I could fix it....wrong.

Al, check your choke control pull. When i bought my 53 super A. got it from a friend and he came over to teach me how to use it. I had it leaking from the carb. he walked back pushed the choke in and it stopped, he found it loose and tightened it up. no drip since. may not be your problem, but i hope it is, I'd really like to help someone like ya'll have helped me. thanks all.

I have a 100 and a 130. The carb drips on the 100 and not on the 130. The 100 has a rebuilt carb bought from Yesterdays Tractors. This is the 4th one and they all dripped. I do like everyone else, turn off the gas when not using the tractor. It does not drip while running.
Good Luck.
