The tires (12.4-38) on my '51 H are fairly tired looking and dull and need to be spruced up with some sort of cleaning/shining stuff. What is the best thing to use to make them look black & shiny again? Thanks for help!! --Jeff

First i spray on SPRAY NINE, you can get it at homehardware or canadian tire, spray it on get a hard brissel brush and scrub like crazy, it will lift all the dirt and crap off the tires, and make them black as night, then i use somekind of spray on foam, it shines then up nice, the nine works good, on car or truck tires with white letters, it takes them from black to white again. What my dad uses at farmshows to shine up the big houle manure tank is wd-40. He uses it on the mettal and tires, works great!

I like the spray on one shot does it all deals.I think the one I use is No Touch.Just spray it on and forget!Looks good too and to me doesnt attract all the dust.Armor All is ok,I guess, dont know the effect it will have on tires though!

Avoid Petroleum based products like Armor All. They will make your tires crack sooner than silicone based products.

Take Care

Jeff, go down on the left side of this page to the "Articles" section, go to the bottom of the list and find "Black Tire Paint" under "Product Reviews." This Miller tire paint really does a great job of bringing out the "new" in old tires. Just get the quart size. You mix it one-to-one with water and a little goes a long way!

I painted my A's original rear tires with Miller's tire paint - it works great. I did the whole tire, tread and all. I think a quart will last me forever.

I like to clean them with bleche-wite, and then use armour-all tire shine. You can get them at Wal-Mart, or some automotive parts stores. I get grest results every time. Have fun!
