Can any one tell me what might have happened to this old H I bought that would fill the block with antifreeze ? I turned the oil petcock out and I got about a gallon of antifreeze out. At least it was not water I guess. Only have $25.00 into the old girl. JON

I had the identical problem. Just tore it down over the week-end. Water had run down the exhaust pipe and pushed # 3 sleeve out through the water jacket. All the cylinders were rusted bad, but the head looks OK. All the rest of the engine parts are OK also. Found another engine today...cost more then the whole tractor..
been wondering about Devcon?? naw, don't think so???

You have a bad head gasket, a cracked head, or a cracked block. Maybe all three.

The H Farmall has dry sleeves and does not need any "O" rings on the sleeves as they do not come into contact with the coolant.

i think i would take the oil pan off, and see if you could see the leak inside the block....it would be nice if it was just a sleeve o-ring....or take a spark plug out , and see if you can narrow it down that way ( ofcourse fill the radiator with water so there is something to leak).....hard to believe its a freeze crack if it had antifreeze

I am no expert, but it looks like you and I are the only ones on here tonight. Sounds like it could be a cracked block or cracked sleeve.
