I need to replace the trans oil in my farmall 300. The deealer says it calls for hytran but the owners manual calls for 90w. Why the switch? What would be better? I restored the tractor and replaced all seals. I plan on driving tractor in parades and tractor rides, but also use it for plowing and pulling a 82 pt.combine.Thanks for any replies.

If you have a Torque Amplifier, use Hytrans, otherwise, use what you want. The Torque Amplifier will stop working using 90 w

You may use either one, if it was mine, and had all new seals, I would go with the hy-tran.

I was told the same thing too. Well, I used the HyTran and it works well. The only problem I have is when I clutch in, I have to wait up to 8 seconds some times for the gears to stop spinning so I can shift. When the 90W was in there is shifted much faster.
