10 20 Float Level

You can coat the float with gas tank sealer. Originally they used shellac on cork floats which works fine if you don't have ANY alcohol in the fuel. Alcohol will dissolve shellac. If you bought a new float for your 10-20 I know exactly what you mean about the bubbles. The new float I got had bubbles and it caused the float to hang up at the end opposite of the brass tang. I took a file and filed the coating until it cleared.Also throw out the directions for seting the float! It will run way too rich if you set it to the spec they give. Look on the inside of the carb fuel bowl and you will see a groove cut into the inside of the bowl all around. Set the end of the float to the groove.Works perfect! It will start easy and be easy to adjust the carb when you have it running. I have a feeling they cut that groove for the guys to use as a guide when putting the carbs together on the assembly line.
