Far as I know A and B sheet metal is the same. Distillate/kerosene versions of either will have an extra hole in the hood. Super A hoods will be the same. Super A-1 grilles will not fit. If you have dzus fasteners, those items are harder to find. If you have J hooks, there should be no problem.

A, B and C grilles are each different at the lower edge as each is cut to match the casting. As far as I know, late A and Super A grilles are the same, with the exception of the screw holes for the front emblems.

Sort of, partly, maybe.

Fenders are the same.

Hoods interchange between A&B, but are different between early, late, gasoline or distillate.

Grilles are different but people with torches make them fit. Early and late are different too.

That was clear as mud! Actually, I need a hood and grill for a 40 B & a 41 BN, both use the same sheet metal. I'm intereted if anyone has these items.

Greg, Your biggest challenge will be, if you have dzeus fasteners is to find a hood and grill of the same configuration, since the gas tank already has dzeus recievers. It may be easier and less costly to replace the gas tank that is "J hook" compatable if you run across a decent hood and grill of the same "J hook" design. While the "A" grill is different from the "B" grill at the bottom, it is easily modified to fit by cutting the bottom to fit the "B" steering gear box.

I'm lucky in that they are both the "J hook" style hoods. Now I only need to find a pair of them.

The hoods are virtually the same. You can purchase new ones from several sources-Bates Corp, OEM manufacturing- or you can buy used ones, Ebay, YTMAG classifieds, etc... As the previous poster stated, if you have a gasoline tractor, look for a gas tractor hood, the the others are different. A's, B's and C's will interchange-even with a little work.
The grill is a little different. A's and B's will likely interchange. Shop for a used one. New ones will cost a pretty penny-over $500.
Bargains are there for the taking-just shop.
