Those who follow the big brother saga know that operation DNA means Do Not Asume, Well I think the same goes for these old tractors.
#1 D N A that when the man tells you the cub just got a new starter that it will work right. Well that really bad growl sounds like a bad ring gear to me.
#2 DNA that when the little cub steers harder than %^&* That its the nature of them. Could be The guy did not beleve in oil in the steering gear housing.
#3 DNA That that rear end Noise growl is becuase they have such a long shaft from the back of the motor to the tranny Like the gentelmen said.Could be that he beleves the rear end should be filled up with water Not Oil. What will I find Next I already see he did not beleve in a greese gun. Can any one tell me how to check the fluid in the housings where the bull gears are.? JON

I guess you should have checked it out better before you bought it. We've all been victims at one point or another, but I've always found my 'pigs-in-a-poke' were because I didn't investigate enough. If the deal seems too good to be true, or if you think you're getting a hell of a steal, just remember somebody else has probably looked at the item and passed at one point or another.

Although it is certainly unscrupulous to misrepresent, if you go into a transaction believing you may get screwed, you'll look things over a bit harder. Learn from the mistake & save yourself some scratch in the future.

Well I took the drawbar mount off and found the plug on the left and scraped the greese on the right and found that one also so I guess I am all set on the oil thing. JON

Before you add oil unbolt/remove the rear axle housing pan. At the bottom of the final drive. Clean and replace, then add gear lub.
